An emission level well below the guarantee

A leading European producer of limestone-based products, Nordkalk, asked us to install an APC solution at its plant in Köping, Sweden. The result surpassed all expectations: dioxin emissions were slashed by 50%, while dust emissions were reduced to only 3-5 mg/Nm³, well below the guaranteed level.

Major ESP upgrade in a 20-day window

South Korean steel giant POSCO posed us two challenges. One, could we upgrade the internals in the ESPs responsible for treating over two million m³/hr of sinter waste gas? Two, could we com-plete the task in a once-in-a-decade 20-day shutdown? We succeeded on both counts – and brought emissions down from 18 to less than 10 mg/Nm³.

Case story - Turn key solution

Turnkey cement ESP achieves < 5 mg/Nm³

Dutch cement maker ENCI entrusted us to deliver a complete turnkey APC solution for one of their cement plants. The solution comprised numerous elements: a large four-field ESP for de-dusting the kiln and dryer, PIACS® Control System, all connecting ductwork, supports, dust transport equipment, etc. The result was impressive, being operationally well below the guaranteed 5 mg/Nm³.

EXCEED EXPECTATIONS. AND THEN SOME

When signing a contract to install ESPs at a major paper mill in China’s Shandong province, we guaranteed particle emissions of less than 10 mg/Nm³. The actual result was – like numerous other Airnord projects – well below 5 mg/Nm³. What’s more, we were able to erect three new ESP chambers while the boiler was still in operation.

Removing dust in non-ferrous, high-temperature processes such as copper, zinc, lead and nickel is challenging. Case story - Coromax

CLEARING THE AIR IN CHINA

Baosteel reached an agreement with local authorities to radically reduce dust emissions from two 350 MW coal-fired boilers in Shanghai. The project involved upgrading ESPs with two additional fields and 16 Coromax® Pulse units. Following installation, emissions had been lowered to compliant levels for a gas volume of 1,350,000 Nm³/h.

China’s special economic area of Shenzhen produces a lot of waste. And we were selected to help turn it safely into energy for the region’s burgeoning population.
