Decades at the forefront of APC innovation

Launched in 2025, the Airnord name hints at our background as emissions control experts rooted in Nordic technical excellence and concern for the environment.

Previously FLSmidth Airtech, we began in 1941 as the Filter Laboratory at FLSmidth’s works in Valby, Copenhagen. The same year also saw our first recorded sale – an ESP for dedust-ing alumina in Sweden.

Following FLSmidth’s decision to focus on mining, Airtech – now renamed Airnord – was acquired by the UK-based investment partnership Rubicon Partners.

Case story

Exceeding expectations. And then some.

Although installed more than 20 years ago, our ESPs at a Bahrain Steel plant continues to limit emissions to well below 3 mg/Nm³. Keen to extend this impressive performance, and also secure high productivity, Bahrain Steel decided to install PIACS® units. The benefits were so decisive, it was decided to extend the use of PIACS® to even more ESPs.
